Samsung Galaxy S8 Design

The internet is flooded with pictures that show the possibility of what the upcoming Galaxy S8 might look like. Also, through a promotional video for their AMOLED display tech, Samsung had showcased an all new smartphone that is believed to be the S8. Supporting this belief are a few leaked images that have floated over the internet. So, if these images are to be believed, the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S8 will get a huge 5.8inch dual edge Super AMOLED display with a pixel density of 500ppi and QuadHD resolution. There are rumours that it will feature a display with 4k resolution. It will be pressure sensitive display that will be equipped with an Optical Finger-print scanner. It is expected to be fitted with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 for protection.

The metallic unibody construction will be similar to the S7 Edge but will be more premium. Alike the previous S7, the S8 will be IP certified as well.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Hardware

This is where Samsung will play a strong game. The Galaxy S8 will debut with Qualcomm MSM8998 Snapdragon 835 SoC that employs an Octa-core – 4 x 2.45 GHz Kryo & 4 x 1.9 GHz Kryo micro-architecture. Graphics duties will be taken care by Adreno 540 GPU. There are rumours that the S8 will be made available with 6GB and 8GB RAM, and the internal storage options will include 64 GB and 128 GB. For the single SIM version, there will be a dedicated MicroSD slot whereas the dual SIM version will make do with a Hybrid Dual SIM tray. The camera setup is expected to have received a major overhaul. The main camera will likely be an all-new 12MP dual pixel camera with f/1.7 aperture and at the front will be a new 8MP camera.

Samsung’s battery folks screwed up big time with the power pack of the Note 7 that led to the infamous explosion gate of 2016 but this time there is no room for errors. The battery expected to be fitted inside the S8 will have a capacity little over 3,000 mAh. Quick Charge and wireless charging support will be standard.

As of now, we have seen leaked images of the smartphone showing the S8 in a shade of Black, Silver, and Gold but we expect more colour at the time of launch.

Samsung Galaxy S8 Software

Samsung Galaxy S8 will roll out with the latest Android OS v7.0 Nougat with the brand’s own TouchWiz UI on top.
