Lenovo Phab2 Pro is the fifth device of the Phab series by the company. The Phab series is moreover like tablets loaded with powerful smartphone hardware and features. Initially announced in June 2016, the company took a while to roll it out in the market. It happens to be the world’s first Tango-enabled smartphone that supports augmented reality (AR) gaming and utilities. Along with AR support, the device also gets a huge 6.4inch screen, 4GB RAM, and an Octa-Core CPU among others.

The design of the Lenovo Phab2 Pro is in line with the others of the Phab2 generation. It features an aluminium unibody construction. On the front is a huge 6.4inch QuadHD 2K widescreen IPS assertive display with 2.5D curved glass on top. On the forehead are the earpiece, proximity sensor and the front facing camera and on the chin are three touch capacitive buttons. The Phab2 Pro is 179.83mm in length, 88.57mm wide and 10.7mm thick, and weighs a hefty 259gm. The phone features the Lenovo branding as well as the Tango logo on the rear panel.
The phone is available in two colour options that include Champagne Gold and Gunmetal Grey.
For Tango, the Lenovo Phab2 Pro comes with a set of four cameras that comprises of a 16 MP RGB camera, depth camera, and fisheye camera for ultra-wide angle panoramic at the rear and an 8MP fixed focus camera on the front. All these cameras work in conjunction with Tango and specially-developed software to enable smartphone AR experiences.
Lenovo has fitted the Phab2 Pro with a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC instead of a MediaTek unit that powers the Phab2 Plus and the Phab2. So a Qualcomm MSM8976 Snapdragon 652 does the duties for the Pro. It is an Octa-core CPU that employs a micro-architecture of 4 x 1.8 GHz Cortex-A72 & 4 x 1.4 GHz Cortex-A53 processor. The Graphics processing is taken care by Adreno 510 GPU. It gets 4GB RAM and 64GB of onboard memory that can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card. The phone gets a hybrid SIM tray that supports two SIMs at a time or a combination of a SIM and a microSD card.
A battery of a 4050 mAh capacity has been put inside the Phab2 Pro. It also supports fast charging and is claimed to deliver a talk time of up to 18 hours and a standby time of 13days.
The Lenovo Phab2 Pro comes with Android OS v6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with the company’s own Vibe UI on top. It is also preinstalled with McAfee Security, Netflix, and Swiftkey.
