BlackBerry DTEK60 is BlackBerry’s Android-powered player introduced in the premium segment competition. It has been co-developed by BB and manufactured by TCL Corp who is best known for their Alcatel smartphones. Just like the DTEK50 which is a rebranded version of the Alcatel Idol 4, even the DTEK60 is based on the TCL950 smartphone. BB has added a host of touches to the hardware as well as software to make it their own. Along with top spec hardware the phone also boasts a lot of safety features.

The BlackBerry DTEK60 features a full size touchscreen with no physical keyboards fitted to it like the former Blackberrys. It gets a no-nonsense design that is almost same as the DTEK50 but on a larger form factor. Over the DTEK50, the DTEK60 features a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor. The display unit fitted is a 5.5inch Quad HD display with 534ppi Pixel density. This AMOLED display is gets a scratch-resistant glass and an Oleophobic coating for protection. The phone measures 6.06inch in length, 2.97inch wide and 0.28inch thick.
The DTEK60 get the standard set of buttons including a power key, volume rocker, and the BlackBerry Convenience key that can be used as a mute key on an active call.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 comes equipped with a capable camera setup. At the rear is a 21MP main camera with auto-focus. It can record 4K and 720p HD videos at 30 fps and 120 fps respectively. Other highlights of the main camera include Phase Detect Auto Focus (PDAF), Fast focus lock, HDR, Dual Tone LED Flash, and video image stabilisation. At the front is an 8MP Fixed-Focus camera with f/2.2 aperture and a pixel size of 1.125um and 84-degree wide angle lens. It offers HDR, Live Filters, Image & video stabilisation, 1080p HD video recording at 30 fps, Selfie Flash, Wide Selfie Mode (also known as Selfie Panorama) and a Multi-Frame Low Light Enhancement feature.
On the inside of the BlackBerry DTEK60 is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 820 64-bit SoC. This MSM8996 uses a Quad-Core 2+2 Kryo 2.15GHz / 1.6GHz configuration. The graphics duties are taken care by Adreno 530 GPU clocked at 624MHz. It features 4GB of RAM and an internal memory of 32GB that can be expanded upto 2TB via microSD card. The phone is fitted with a USB Type-C port and a Quick Charge 2.0 enable 3000mAh non-removable battery.
The BlackBerry DTEK60 is a ‘Fully Android Device’ and comes preloaded with Android v6.0 Marshmallow. It features all the Google apps as well as Blackberry safety apps.
