Apple iPhone SE was brought into the market in March 2016 months after the 6s duo were launched. At the event, the Apple folks conveyed that the iPhone SE was their attempt to provide a more capable iPhone to the consumer class which prefers a compact, specifically a 4-inch iPhone as their daily workhorse. Prior to the SE, the iPhone 5s was the company’s compact smartphone that was available worldwide. It was launched in the year 2013 and needed a worthy upgrade, thus the iPhone SE.

Visually, the iPhone SE looks absolutely identical to the iPhone 5s but there are a couple of neat tweaks that set them apart. Starting off, the same aluminum design of the 5s has been refined with matte chamfered edges and a new Rose Gold version has been added to the colour option as well. The back panel of the SE also insets a stainless steel Apple logo just like the iPhone 6s.
The screen is a 4inch LED-backlit Multi-Touch display with IPS technology and a resolution of 1136 x 640 pixels at 326 ppi. It features a fingerprint-resistant oleophobic coating. The iPhone SE has a fingerprint sensor built into the Home button and now supports Apple Pay using Touch ID.
Apple has loaded the iPhone SE with the same performance hardware as the iPhone 6s / 6s Plus. It comes with an A9 chip with 64‑bit architecture which is assisted by an M9 motion coprocessor. The processor performance of the iPhone SE is claimed to be 2x faster than that of the iPhone 5s. The graphics processing of the SE is 3x faster than that of the 5s. The iPhone SE is made available in two storage options – 16GB and 64GB.
Even the camera setup is identical to that of the 6s, so we have a 12MP rear camera with f/2.2 aperture, and 5-element lens. The features on this camera include Live Photos with stabilization, True Tone flash, and Autofocus with Focus Pixels, Auto image stabilization and Panorama (up to 63 megapixels). It can also record 4K videos 30 fps.
The facetime camera on the front can do 1.2-megapixel photos. The lens gets f/2.4 aperture and retina flash technology that is Apple’s take on screen illumination.
The Apple iPhone SE supports Apple Pay that allows users to pay with their iPhone using Touch ID in stores, within apps, and on the web. The smartphone rolls out with the newly released iOS 10.
Apple iPhone SE is strictly made for those guys who are interested in phones with tiny form factor, 4-inchers specifically. It features the hardware setup of the iPhone 6s in a iPhone 5s form factor. Its performance is much better and faster than the 5s.
