Targeted at selfie lovers, the Vivo Y66 has been launched in India at a price of Rs. 14, 990. The biggest USP of this device is a 16MP front camera that is assisted by an LED Flash that Vivo calls as the ‘Moonlight Glow’. Apparently, the feature lights up objects in a soft light and induces a natural glow on the face, irrespective of lighting conditions. The device will be available in shades of Crown Gold and Rose Gold.
The Vivo Y66 is powered by an octa-core 64-bit processor, 3GB of RAM and 32GB internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card (of upto 256GB). Supporting the hardware is a 3,000mAh battery with QuickCharge 2.0 support. The screen is a 5.5′ HD (1280×720) 2.D curved display protected by Gorilla Glass 3, of 32GB internal storage which can be expanded via a microSD card (of upto 256GB).
The smartphone runs Funtouch OS 3.0 atop Android 6.0 Marshmallow. The Y66 features a 13MP rear camera with an LED flash and a 16MP camera on the front. The Y66 also comes with certain additional features such as a ‘Smart Screen-Split’ mode to make multi-tasking easy, an “Eye Protection Mode” and a 6 month free subscription to Saavn Pro radio.
At the launch, Mr. Vivek Zhanh, CMO, Vivo India said, “Y66 is a testimony to our commitment towards valued customers to constantly offer them varied choices. We are pleased to launch this device, a stellar addition to the popular Y series collection. At Vivo, we are strongly focused on offering cutting edge technology at affordable prices.”
