Our obsession with ourselves went public with the advent of the ‘Selfie’. Phone makers then realized that they were doing it all wrong all these years. As a result, the cellphone’s front camera is increasingly becoming superior than the one that sits on the back panel and the Vivo V5 Plus is one such device which thrives on that trait. The selfie focused device will be launched in India today and rumors suggest that pre-orders have begun at a price of Rs. 27,980. Here’s how it fares specs wise.

The Vivo V5 Plus runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box, with Vivo’s Funtouch 3.0 UI on top. With a 5.5-inch FHD display is brought to life by a 2.0GHz Snapdragon 625 SoC, backed by 4 GB of RAM. However, the USP of the phone lies in its dual front camera setup. The system combines a 20MP+8MP lens, where the bigger lens makes use of Sony’s IMX376 1/2.78-inch sensor with f/2.0 aperture and 5P lens system, while the 8-megapixel camera captures depth-of-field information. Working together, it allows to produce a ‘Bokeh’ effect, a’la the iPhone 7 Plus. The rear camera isn’t lagging either, and happens to be a 16MP lens, supported by LED flash.

The Vivo V5 Plus gets a fingerprint scanner embedded into the home button and comes with 64GB of standard in-built memory, which is expandable via a microSD card (up to 256GB). The phone is powered by a 3160mAh battery which also supports fast charging. The V5 Plus offers 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 4.2, and GPS.
