The Samsung Galaxy J7 was launched in March 2016 and is a slightly lower spec version of the J7 Prime. It’s similar to the prime variant in terms of looks, though it packs in lower RAM, lesser resolution and a weaker camera on the front panel. As goes without saying, this one is cheaper than its J7 Prime counterpart too.

The Galaxy J7 is almost identical to its Prime cousin, although it shares the exact dimensions with the Prime. The J7 gets a plastic construction with rounded edges. The arrangement of buttons is all familiar. The phone’s dimensions are 151.70 x 76.00 x 7.80 (height x width x thickness) and it weighs 170.00 grams. The phone doesn’t get a fingerprint sensor.
The Galaxy J7 comes with a 5.5inch, touch screen display with a 720p resolution. As with the Prime, the volume buttons and the dual SIM tray along with the micro SD slot are positioned on the left, with the Power button on the right. The front panel gets a home button flanked by two touch capacitive navigation buttons.
At the rear, the phone gets the camera and LED on top. You can buy the J7 in the shades of gold and black.
Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime gets the Exynos 7870 octa-core Processor with clock speed of 1.6 GHz. Graphical processing is taken care of by the Mali-T830MP2 GPU. The phone gets 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage which can be expanded up to 128GB via an external microSD card.
The Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime gets a 13-megapixel rear shooter with a 5-megapixel front camera. The J7 Prime is powered by a 3300mAh non-removable battery and also gets DUAL Micro SIM capability.
The Galaxy J7 comes with the latest Android 6.0 Marshmallow straight out of the box.
