NextBit Robin Design

Though the body is crafted out of plastic still the Nextbit Robin looks and feels premium. The design is completely geometrical with no curves or bends found on any corner of the phone. The fresh looks are driven by its bright colours and clean design lines. The maker states that the circles on the Robin are in pairs, so if you look at the front the selfie cam is paired with the proximity sensor, the dual speaker setup also comprises of two circular units at both ends of the screen. The same is the case with the volume keys on the side.

On the Front, is a 5.2 inch Full HD display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 4. It has a pixel density of 424PPI. On top of it are the 5 MP front camera, proximity sensor and an earpiece. The earpiece is also one of the dual speaker setup with the other being placed at the bottom of the screen just like a home button. The back panel is clean and features LED notification lights, the brand logo and the main camera with flash.

NextBit Robin Hardware

The NextBit Robin is powered by a Hexa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 808 MSM8992 SoC and Adreno 418 GPU. The CPU is clocked at 1.8GHz and complimented by 3GB of LPDDR3 RAM. The internal storage is limited to 32GB but can be expanded with the help of a cloud-based storage option. The makers offer 100GB of cloud-based storage that is integrated with the phone’s software. The Robin gets a 5MP front facing camera, and at the rear is a 13MP equipped with Phase Detection Auto Focus and a Dual Tone flash. The energy is drawn from a 2680 mAh battery that supports Quick Charge 2.0.

Interestingly the phone gets a very ergonomically place fingerprint sensor. The sensor is integrated with the power button of the phone that is placed on the right-hand side. For enthusiasts, Nextbit has rolled out the device with its Bootloader unlocked so custom ROMs are officially accepted.

NextBit Robin Software

The NextBit Robin comes with Android v6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with NextBit OS on top.
