The Zenfone 3 Laser gets a metallic unibody construction that has been polished by a hyperfine sand-blasting technique. The phone measures 149mm in length, 76mm in width, 7.9mm in thickness and tips the weighing scale at 150gms. On the front is a 5.5inch FullHD (1920 by 1080) IPS display with Bluelight filter on it that is said to be good to the eyes.
The screen is protected by a 2.5D contoured Corning Gorilla Glass and gets Fingerprint and smudge-resistant oleophobic coating. With a bezel measuring 2.58mm in thickness the screen-to-body ratio of the phone is of 77%. There are three touch capacitive buttons under the screen. The phone is available in Sand Gold and Glacier Silver.
Powering the Zenfone 3 Laser is the 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 Soc. This Octa-Core CPU is clocked at 1.4GHz and comes coupled with Adreno 505. The smartphone maker rolls out two versions of the Laser with two different RAM options including 2GB and 4GB. The internal storage options include 16GB and 32GB. Apart from these two factors, all the surrounding hardware remains the same. It has a memory expansion slot that supports MicroSD cards upto 128GB.
For photography purposes, the phone is equipped with a 13MP PixelMaster 3.0 camera at the rear and an 8MP front facing unit. The primary cam uses a 2nd-gen fast instant focus that is claimed to take 0.03s to do its job. It also benefits from a Color correction (RGB) sensor for suitable white balance and natural-looking color output.
The battery packed into the Zenfone 3 Laser is a 3000mAh (non-removable) pack that is claimed to be having received an increase in power efficiency by 35% as compared to the Snapdragon 617 processor.
The Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes with Android v6.0 Marshmallow out of the box with ASUS ZenUI 3.0 fitted onto it.
Asus Zenfone 3 Laser comes with second generation laser autofocus that is faster than that on the previous Zenfone Laser. It gets an Octa-Core CPU, 4GB RAM, and Adreno 505 GPU. Its metallic construction makes it look and feel more premium.
