Sunil Taldar has taken over from Shashi Arora as CEO & Director – DTH, Bharti Airtel. Taldar will now be a member of the Airtel Management Board and will report to Gopal Vittal, MD & CEO (India & South Asia), Bharti Airtel. Following tenure of 5 years as the CEO – DTH, Arora has moved as MD & CEO, Airtel Payments Bank.

Earlier, Taldar was the Country Head – Indonesia for Mondelez and prior to that he was India Sales Director for Cadbury. For his new role, Taldar will be responsible for driving growth and innovation for Airtel Digital TV, which is a key growth driver within the company’s B2C portfolio.

Taldar has an experience of over 28 years in the FMCG industry with Mondelez (erstwhile Cadbury), where he held several senior leadership positions across multiple geographies, including India, China, and Singapore across Sales, Marketing, Media and General Management.

Commenting on the appointment, Gopal Vittal said that the company is pleased to have Sunil as part of their leadership team and hopes that his experience across consumer-facing categories will add value to Airtel’s DTH portfolio. He further wished Sunil all the best for his new role and looks forward to working with him. He also thanked Shashi for his valuable contribution to Airtel Digital TV.
